Hello Fall!

I just love the Fall Season. How About you?  Have you started creating Fall projects yet? I hope this Fall project will inspire you to get into the crafting spirit.

Isn’t that just beautiful?  It’s so very pretty and I’m positive you think so too.  Let’s take a look at how to put it together, shall we?

The Circle Steel Rule Die matches the DIY Hoop almost perfectly - so I cut a sheet of the Good Life Printed Paper to adhere in the hoop with Journey Glue Dots and it's a perfect backdrop for the flowers!

I'm really pleased with how this looks. They go together so well. It's pretty and neutral!

Now, because I wanted to creative sunflowers, I started with this Star Burst Bloom Die Set - It's fun and easy to curl the edges into a realistic looking flower. When done, I will adhere the three layers together with Medium Journey Foam Squares

For some accents, I added a few flowers from the Cottage Blooms Die Set. It's a good companion to the larger Sunflower I've created.

To add a bit of texture and movement to the flower, I used my Crease Tool to roll and curl the edges to give them a more realistic look. It's  fun and easy technique that adds a lot of pop to my project. Once all of the flowers were curled I adhered these together with small Journey Foam Squares.

Flowers need leaves, right? They make a Wonderful accent and I love creating these two tone leaves from our Blooming Details Die Set. The Kiwi Slice and Blue Lagoon cardstocks was a fun surprise to see see how fantastic the look together as leaves.

Now, for the flower center I combined a couple of simple elements – a 1.75 inch Scalloped Circle makes a great center.  Even better?  Layer a 1.5 inch Scallped Circle of a different color on top of it using the Journey Craft Glue.  Before adhering it use the 1/16 circle punch to create the look of Sunflower Seeds.  It’s a very fun detail!

Once the elements are cut, it's now time to assemble them! Take the Kiwi Slice cardstock and layer a sheet of Fall O Ween Prints on top of it.  To finish this project I simply attached the cardstock base onto the Clipboard Easel using the easel clip.  Then add the DIY Hoop and flowers — and I have a beautiful decoration I can switch out for any holiday!

This simple home decor item is easy to recreate. Now it's your turn.

Let The Holidays Begin

I love the holiday season! Though it seems to comer earlier every year for the shopping community, for me it truly begins at the beginning of November. Yes, that's the time I feel I can officially say Happy Holidays, Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and the many other seasonal greetings we hear during this time of year.

As a crafter it's also the time of year I love to hunker down and get my creative mojo working while watching a good Hallmark movie. I'm so excited! Do you get excited about the same thing?

Today also marks the official pairing of two crafting companies I love, coming together under one crafting umbrella. FSJ (Fun Stampers Journey) and Spellbinders begins a new adventure today (November 1, 2018) as they combine both product lines together.

Pardon, me as a squirrel away to go shopping for some great products. You're welcome to come join me if you'd like. 😏
